KATE SPADE SPRING 2014 INSPIRED NAILS

[Colors: White = Julep: Bunny Grey = Revlon: #370 Smoldering]

Kate Spade is known for having clean lines and simple designs with an overall look of New York elegance.  Their Spring 2014 line is no different.  As you can see from the image above, this collection is not showy or over the top.  This “resort wear” collection is the perfect way to show off your femininity while cocktail-ing on the veranda a.k.a back patio for the rest of us  ;)

HOW TO:

  • Polish your entire nail with white polish.
  • Polish the top third of your nail with grey polish
  • Once your nail is dry, choose your stripe color and paint across the nail where the white and grey divide.
  • Stripe Colors from the Runway: Red, Pink, Yellow
  • Add your top coat.

ROAD TRIP MANI

The key to manicures on the go is a straight highway and bright colors.

I chose pink with a stripe of glitter.  It’s quick, easy and looks like you could have put a lot into it.

What does your on-the-go manicure look like?

ALL FOR LOVE & LOVE FOR ALL

I spent this Valentine’s Day at my Aunt’s wedding.  They’ve been together 17 years but unfortunately their devotion is not legally recognized in all states.  It’s important to always practice tolerance and appreciation for our differences.  Just because some paths may not be the one you’re on, doesn’t make it wrong.

Live and let live…..and always have a painted nail!

CHERRY BLOSSOM

My inspiration for this manicure was the Arizona Tea bottle.  This design is easy, bright and fresh.  Just what we need during this season; a little color.

  • Base Polish: Nubar Blue from their Spring 2012 collection
  • Black Nail Art Brush: Draw your branch lines (Random = Good)
  • Cherry Blossom: Nubar Pink from their Spring 2012 Collection (Don’t make perfect dots.  No two flowers are the same.)
  • Black Nail Art Dotter: Place a small seed in the middle of each flower

SCRABBLE LOVE

Love is in the air with these nails!  I found a company called SCRATCH, that makes fantastic decals.  One of their decals included the design you see above (kind of).  Bad news: THEY WERE SOLD OUT!  Long story short, the design above is hand drawn.  I think it turned out great!

Check out the SCRATCH site to see what other cool, on trend decals they have available now:

GRAFFITI VALENTINE

Grab your sharpies and Go!

  • Base: Glitter Polish from Julep
  • Art: Black Sharpie
  • Don’t forget your top coat or your sharpie art will fade quickly

XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS

This design was unintentional.  Initially I was only waering the base glitter polish.  A mixture of boredom a perfectly placed black Sharpie marker, I went to town.

HOW TO:

  • Polish nails.  Wait for polish to completely dry.
  • With a sharpie, draw an “X” in the center of each nail
  • Fill in each section of your nail with “V” shapes.
  • Complete with top coat.
